Plain and Simple: Healthy Home Design 101 is the first thing you want to do when preparing for a renovation or new build!
Hi! I'm Kate Hamblet, a licensed architect that specializes in designing homes that enhance the health of people and the planet.
I know that not every budget allows for architectural design services. But just because you aren’t hiring an architect that shouldn't mean your project isn't successful.
The thing is, there's a lot that goes into the home design process. And if you don't have experience with design and the building process, it can get pretty overwhelming and even turn ugly.
Generally if you don’t hire an architect you take the risk of getting a lot of things wrong, and that can be very costly.
So I created the Healthy Home Design 101 Course to start to bridge the gap between going it alone and hiring a pricey architect, because everyone deserves to live in a beautiful, comfortable, healthy home.

It will also introduce the most important healthy home design concepts that your architect might not be familiar with. The more information and clarity you can bring to the discussions with your architect, the more successful your project will be.

I know how hard it is to find the time for anything extra, so I made this course as efficient as possible! I recommend taking 3-4 weeks to go through this course. You can expect to spend about 2 hours each week to go through the course material and do the accompanying work.
Forever! You will never lose access to the course. This is perfect if you're just starting to think about your renovation or new build but aren't quite in the design phase yet. You can study the course material now (which will set you up for massive success to be so well prepared in advance), then review it again as your design project gets closer.
You can! You don't need an architect to design a health and wellness focused house for you, but you do need to understand some key design features that belong in healthy homes. This course gives you the background knowledge so you know to include in your home and why they're so important.
That is a very risky move. There is SO MUCH misinformation online and in the construction trade about healthy and sustainable homes. Most information online is not coming from expert sources and much of it is inaccurate. And there is a lot of conflicting information! There's also a lot of greenwashing (falsely saying something is healthy and planet-friendly). Plus it will take a lot longer to hunt and peck around the internet trying to find the information you're looking for.
This course also goes deep into understanding your project goals so you know exactly what you need to do to your house to make it the healthy, calm and comfortable home you want it to be.
My #1 goal is to make sure you're happy and prepared to begin your healthy home project. If you have watched the videos, used the resources, and put in the work, and you feel like the course hasn't helped, I'll work to make it right.
